Abstract

Vocational training significantly enhances labor productivity and efficiency, thereby playing a crucial role in fostering economic development. This study aims to investigate the impact of vocational education on economic growth in Pakistan, focusing on public investment in vocational education and the availability of teachers in this sector. Utilizing time series data for empirical analysis, the study aims to uncover the relationship between vocational education and economic growth. The findings of the study reveal a positive relationship between vocational education and economic growth. Enhanced vocational education leads to improved efficiency and productivity within the labor force, consequently contributing to economic development. This underscores the importance of prioritizing vocational education in national development strategies. The study highlights the need to upgrade the existing vocational education system in Pakistan. Addressing the shortage of teachers in technical institutions is identified as a critical challenge. Furthermore, the study emphasizes the importance of providing comprehensive training programs to enhance the pedagogical skills of vocational educators. By improving the quality of vocational education, Pakistan can harness its full potential for economic advancement.
